Be Still, My Soul

"Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side.
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change, He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heavenly Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end."

No more code!
Hey everyone! Well, if you're one of those unfortunate souls who couldn't post because of the little "code" on the comment page, then you don't have to worry about it anymore! I changed my settings which will, hopefully, allow you to post. Let me know if it still won't let you!

Nine Years Old!

Well, I’m very late in writing this, but needed to get it posted. Molly turned 9 years old last Wednesday, January 30th. Molly has a unique story. Nine years ago, on January 29th, our family was planning on moving our belongings into our new home. However, we didn’t plan on Mom going into labor the very same day! (The night before, my dad jokingly told her to take it easy or she might have the baby--he was right)! Molly arrived at midnight, January 30th, but wasn't breathing immediately. However, the Lord miraculously worked and she began breathing. Molly is a very thoughtful young lady who enjoys tea parties, playing with her brothers, likes helping in the kitchen when it comes to baking, and is the most affectionate child we’ve ever had.
We love you Molly!

Birthdays!

Hey everyone! I was wondering if you all could help me out. I would like to get the date of your birthday. There is no need for you to list the year of your birth. I would just like to know when your birthday is for my own personal reference. Sometimes I can't remember which day Susie's birthday is or Jane's. Anyway, please let me know by making a comment to this post, along with your name and the initial of your last name. Thank you!!!
Mr. & Mrs. Jensen

Our friends, Megan & Chris, were united in marriage, Saturday, January 12th. Here are some pictures highlighting the couple and their reception. And for all my girl friends out there...her colors were brown, orange and red. :-) The bridesmaids wore brown colored gowns with a white sash around the waist, that had a small bow at the side. The groomsmen were dressed in black tuxes and taupe colored vests. Unfortunately, I don't have many pictures of the bridal party. It was a pretty wedding, though, and we wish all the best to Chris & Megan!!

Changes, changes!
Here I go again! Another change has been made! I looked over several different backgrounds for my blog, but have resolved to keep the Blogger template with a few alterations. Since it's getting close to Valentine's Day, what better theme than that? Yes, I know it's not red...but I couldn't get some other colors to look right. So, brown & pink!

He Goeth On Before
Dark is the sky and veiled the unknown morrow
Dark is life's way, for night is not yet o'er;
The longed-for glimpse I may not meanwhile borrow;
But, this I know, HE GOETH ON BEFORE.
Dangers are nigh and fears my mind are shaking;
Heart seems to dread what life may hold in store;
But I am His--He knows the way I'm taking,
More blessed still--HE GOETH ON BEFORE.
Doubts cast their weird, unwelcome shadows o'er me,
Doubts that life's best--life's choicest things are o'er;
What but His Word can strengthen, can restore me,
And this blest fact; that still HE GOES BEFORE.
HE GOES BEFORE! Be this my consolation!
He goes before! On this my heart would dwell!
He goes before! This guarantees salvation!
HE GOES BEFORE! And therefore all is well.

Steve Green
Hi everyone! Last night, we had the privilege to hear Steve Green in concert at a church in the area. A free-will love offering was given on behalf of the Haiti Home of Hope, which is an orphan's home that this church started. After the concert was over, Ab, some friends, and I got our picture taken with Steve Green. :-)
He didn't put on a "show" for the audience, and in the words of my friend, "it wasn't about him".

Sixteen Candles
2 years old

Well, today is a very special day for someone...it's Abby's 16th birthday! Ab has grown into a beautiful young lady. She is disciplined, enjoys photography, loves to play soccer, plays the piano by ear, loves her friends and family, and likes to go hiking, swimming, and running. She is also serious about her relationship with the Lord. We love you, Abby, and wish you a very Happy Sweet Sixteenth Birthday!
Love you,
Lace

Happy New Year, everyone! Pretty original, I know...
My mom told me yesterday that she thought I should update my blog because it was getting a little old. She's exactly right! Since you most likely received our Christmas letter, I will only highlight some of the events and moments of our year--through pictures! Enjoy and may you have a wonderful new year as you grow closer to Him!
